We can work together to bring awareness to Epilepsy

about.

Annabelle Pantzer is a sophomore at Duke University, studying Neuroscience on a pre-medicine track. She was diagnosed with Epilepsy in August of 2019 when she experienced her first tonic-clonic seizure. Since her diagnosis, Annabelle has dedicated her time to helping others with Epilepsy. She brings awareness to her school community and works to implement the teaching of seizure first aid. Annabelle wants to be there for young people who are navigating and processing living with epilepsy. Annabelle founded Seize Support to create awareness and promote conversation among teens with epilepsy who should not be ashamed of their diagnosis but rather better understand how to live with it day to day. This support group is a safe space where everyone should feel comfortable engaging in active dialogue about epilepsy and promoting understanding around the disease. Seize Support meets monthly and is for teenagers who have Epilepsy or have experienced a seizure during their lifetime. It is an outlet to express concerns and feelings, and to discuss issues that can be worked on together to better understand and cope with epilepsy because it is impossible to navigate this alone.
